Pottery with cracked glass

I was recently on a buying trip to Banner Elk, NC when I discovered this gorgeous pottery bowl at The Art Cellar. It was made by potter Andrew Stephenson who lives just south of Asheville, NC. Apparently, Andrew fires a piece of glass in the bottom of the bowl and it melts and fuses to the clay in the firing process. It is amazing. The bottom of the bowl sparkles like a jewel! I may have purchased three......don't judge! Someone will thank me for this. It might be you!
